Even the eternal road construction couldn’t keep the artists from the 2011 Friends of the Howard Lake Library Pumpkin Painting event.  During the two sessions, over sixty pumpkins and gourds were decorated. The 2011 GRRL Summer Reading Program is now history and participants celebrated their success on August 18. The 2011 Summer Reading Program begins June 13. “One World, Many Stories” is the theme for the program for children up to age 12. For the teen, the theme is “You Are Here”. Check with the librarians for more information.

Author Jan Zita Grover and her canine companion Sophie were the center of a dog-gone good time on Saturday, Feb. 12.  Nearly thirty young dog lovers and their parents enjoyed Jan’s talk, the craft stations and the snacks.  Our regular R.E.A.D. dog Penny was on hand, too.
